I made San Antonio my home in 1990 upon graduating from Jarrell High School in Jarrell, Texas. I attended UTSA where I played basketball for the Lady Roadrunners and earned a B.S. in Kineseology. I began my teaching and coaching career in 1995 for Judson High School. I joined the North East family in 1996 when I accepted a position for assistant basketball coach and biology teacher at Churchill High School.
I have been teaching Science at Bush since 1999. In 2001 I was selected as a Frontiers in Physiology summer research teacher through the American Physiological Society. I spent 8 weeks working in a research laboratory experiencing true science. The experiences I received through this internship have greatly impacted my teaching strategies in the science classroom. I was honored to be selected by my colleagues in 2004 as Bush teacher of the year.
I am married and have two children and 1 dog. I love spending time with my family camping, jogging, playing sports and watching college basketball. Over the summer, we spent time traveling to Florida, Minnesota and Concan. Cooking is a passion of mine and in my dream life I would love to host a cooking show.
I am looking forward to a very exciting year.
